Local Heat Transfer Dynamics in the In-Line Tube Bundle under Asymmetrical Pulsating Flow

The pulsating flow is one of the techniques that can enhance heat transfer, therefore leading to energy saving in tubular exchangers. This paper investigated transfer and characteristics a two-dimensional in-line tube bundle with by numerical method using Ansys Fluent. Numerical simulation was performed for Reynolds number Re = 500 different frequencies amplitude pulsation. Heat enhancement estimated from central bundle. Pulsation velocity had an asymmetrical character reciprocating flow. technique developed authors obtain asymmetric pulsations used. allows simulating exchangers equipped pulsation generation system. Increase both frequency significant effect on enhancement. mainly observed front back cylinder. At steady these areas, minimal due weak circulation increase cylinder associated increased additional mixing areas. maximum Nusselt averaged over space time entire studied range 106%, at 0.5 Hz 4.5.
